Party!

This weekend I had some friends over for a little get-together!  In the past I worked at Carolina Bentley as a special education teacher.  I miss the fun stories, drama, and of course these great women!  They are so fun to be around and you can count on a night of laughing until it hurts!  I thought we deserved a night with great food, drinks, decor, and fun!
Before they arrived I made some really yummy sangria that is soooo easy to make... Slice your fruit...

Add your sangria (I get it from cost plus world market) and let the fruit sit in it all day.

Just before serving I add ice and sparkling lemonade(mine is from Trader Joe's).  I like that the sparkling lemonade gives it a  bit of fizz!

Besides Sangria I served sparkling lemonade and rosemary-lemon water.  I grow rosemary every year because I love the smell and because it can be used in so many recipes.  I love the taste of the rosemary when it is combined with lemon.

I was planning on having dinner outside, but every time I plan an event outside we get HUGE storms.  I had things set-up and about an hour before they arrived it began to get really windy and stormy so instead of getting myself ready I had to relocate everything inside.   It could have been so cute outside....this is my only picture before I had to run around moving everything.  The appetizer menu.

It did turn out to be cozy inside...
I chose gold, bright pink, black, and of course  burlap for my color theme.  I don't normally decorate with pink, but thought it would be a great way to add a fun summery look to the other colors I wanted to use.

I sprayed these chargers with a watermelon color spray paint to bring more pink into the decor.  I love using clear plates because you can do fun things under them.  This time I used vintage doilies to match the napkins that have doilies stitched on them.  You could easily make these napkins yourself!

Each guest got to take a little arrangement home...
I used paper mache pots that I sprayed with the same watermelon spray paint.  I put a glass inside to place the flowers in.  The flowers consisted of spray roses and variegated pitt.

Everyone loved this ball of carnations!  These are so easy to make!

I tied the chairs with a burlap ribbon sash and pink paper flower!

I think candles are one of the best (and cheapest) ways to decorate!

Our dinner menu...

The best part of all...

Heather, Melinda, Sharon, Barb, and Nancy thanks again for a great time...I can't wait for our next outing!!

Thanks for taking a peek!
